CW MARS GET A LIBRARY CARD
All who live, work, or go to school in Massachusetts can apply for a CW MARS public library card.
To register for a physical library card, visit any CW MARS member library with a photo ID and proof of address. A physical library card provides access to both physical and electronic materials.
Want access sooner? Eligible residents can apply for an eCard!
An eCard is a CW MARS library card that patrons who live in a town with a CW MARS member library can register for online to access electronic materials, such as ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and databases. The eCard is for patrons who do not already have a CW MARS library card. eCards may be upgraded to a physical library card by visiting your local library.

SIGNING UP FOR A BPL eCARD
Step One: REGISTER FOR AN ACCOUNT
- I do not have a BPL eCard.
- Use your ARPS email address
- Use a 4-digit PIN (all numbers, no letters or symbols) that you will remember
- I am not sure if I have a BPL eCard.
- I have a BPL eCard that I need to renew.
- I already have a BPL eCard account.
Step Two: SET UP YOUR BPL ACCOUNT
- Check your email for an email from the Boston Public Library.
- Copy the library card 13-digit number from the email.
- Go to www.BPL.org.
- In the top right corner click log in/register and use your library card number and PIN to login.
- You’ll be prompted to pick a username. We recommend making it the same as your ARHS username so it’s easy to remember. While this step is optional, we recommend it as it will save you time later!
- Star and save your email from the BPL with your card number. You may want to refer to this later!
For most services (like JSTOR or Libby), you will just need to login with your BPL library card number and PIN, however for a small number you will need to create an account and link it to your library card. Below are two commonly used services. For instructions on how to do that, click the “tutorials” link below.
